CD and DVD replication is a means of reproducing the master copy of a music, video, data, software or audio CD or DVD. CD and DVD replication is quite different from duplication. Duplication involves the burning of the image on a disc, for example the CD master copy onto a CD blank.
CD and DVD replication on the other hand is defined as a cloning of the master CD or DVD. In this process, a glass master of the master CD or DVD is created and from it a stamper or mould is formed. The mould is the mirror image of the contents of the original master copy. This mould is then placed in an automated injection mould machine and in the moulding process of say a CD, a replica of the mould is created on CD blank.
Since most CD and DVD replication technologies are automated this form of reproduction is cheaper for high volumes of CDs or DVDs in the range of 10000 and over. This technology really helps in achieving economies of scale.

ReplyDeleteAn important point with printing in the design of the CD covers is to keep the graphic details and the number of fonts minimal so as not to end up with a graphically cramped-up package. Such packaging is likely to confuse the potential customer and negatively impact on the interest of potential buyers to the contents of the CD.Thank you.
